Stamp, Coin and Collection Valuation Service

IoCollezionista.com values collections of stamps, coins, postal history and other collectibles. We have always done this for our own customers, and the service is now open to everyone on the terms set out below. If you have inherited a collection, or you have simply always wondered what yours is worth, we can tell you.

Who values your collection

Luciano Bellasio, founder of Filatelia Bellasio and IoCollezionista, has worked in philately for more than 40 years. He personally values entire philatelic, numismatic and postal history collections. Many of our customers come to us with a collection they have inherited, either to have it valued before selling it or simply to know what it is worth. In some cases we may also make an offer to buy, which you are of course free to decline.

We have served thousands of customers over 40 years, and our eBay store, open since 2010, carries over 7,000 positive reviews.

What the valuation costs

Valuing any item, whether a stamp, a coin or another collectible, starts at a fixed minimum of 100 Euro including VAT, excluding the cost of shipping or collecting the item. For the online service described below, prices start at 50 Euro.

Typical costs where the items are sent to us:

Complete stamp collection, 1 to 10 albums: 200 to 400 Euro

Complete stamp collection, 10 albums or more: 300 to 600 Euro

Coin collection, priced by the number of pieces: 200 to 500 Euro

In most cases we will need to quote you individually. Send us a detailed description of how many coins, albums or stamps you have, or any other indication of the size of the collection, and we will come back to you with a quote within 3 to 4 working days. Payment is always by bank transfer.

Online valuation for single items

An online valuation cannot be as complete or as accurate as handling the items in person, and it does not allow us to guarantee that your collection is authentic. Please keep that in mind. The service is available for single items only: individual stamps, coins, or collectibles such as postcards and postal history.

The price ranges from 50 to 100 Euro depending on how many items are involved. Send high resolution photographs to info@iocollezionista.com and complete the bank transfer before we begin. You will receive an explanation of what the item is, what it might be worth on the market, and answers to up to two follow-up questions about it.

Standard valuation, by delivery or shipping

Where an online valuation is not possible, you will need to bring your collection to our premises in Como, Italy, or send it to us by courier. We will agree the arrangements and the timing with you, depending on our current workload. For any question, write to info@iocollezionista.com, attaching sample photographs and telling us precisely how many items you would like valued.

The document you receive

For collections sent to us or left with us in person, we issue a written document describing your collection in detail, assessing its condition, and offering a technical opinion. We also give an estimate of what the items are worth, both against the catalogues and against current market values. After you receive it we remain available by email for further questions and any clarification you need.

The document we issue is not a certified appraisal and cannot be used as one.

Do you buy collections, stamps and coins?

Not always. Our business already carries a large number of items, as you can see from the rest of the site. In some cases we are interested in buying, particularly where there are rare pieces or items in exceptional condition. We normally make an offer only after a full, paid valuation.
