Lombardy-Venetia 1853 Free-Franked Letter to Milan, Camerlata Mark - LOTTO/40537Lombardy-Venetia 1853 Free-Franked Letter to Milan, Camerlata Mark

5/11/1853 LOMBARDY-VENETIA - Comune di Cermenate, 1st district of Camerlata. Free-franked letter addressed to Milan. (When stamps were first introduced in Lombardy-Venetia, old pre-philatelic handstamps were pressed back into use and were themselves replaced by others of the most varied forms: mute, framed, oval or cogwheel. These marks are to be regarded as almost provisional, like the Camerlata one, since they were withdrawn and replaced by the standard mark, the single circle with day and date.) The Camerlata mark is very fine and uncommon. Initialled L. Gazzi - Lotto/40537 WE WELCOME OFFERS
