Ethiopia

Ethiopia is a country of more than 100 million people, on 2016 figures, in the so-called Horn of Africa, a triangular peninsula in the eastern part of the African continent touching the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden. Besides Ethiopia, the peninsula also takes in Eritrea, Somalia and Djibouti. Following the military campaign strongly willed by Mussolini and begun in 1935, Ethiopia officially became an Italian colonial possession in 1936; the well known speech proclaiming the empire dates from May of that same year. The country would remain under Italian control until 1941.
