ITALIAN REPUBLIC 1945

Italy 1945 stamps, available online at Io Collezionista. 1945 was a period of transition for the country. On 25 April Italy was liberated by Allied troops, but this was only the first step on a long road that would take more than a decade to revive the national economy. A few months before the Liberation, it is worth recalling the approval of universal suffrage and the extension of the vote to women on 31 January by the provisional government, appointed after the liberation of Rome in June 1944 and a result of the so-called Salerno turn of April that same year. In the main Stamps category you can browse other subcategories devoted to particular historical periods, such as Italian States stamps and Italian Colonies stamps.
