ITALY 1952
Italian Republic stamps from 1952, available worldwide at Io Collezionista. In June 1952 the Scelba Law was passed, its main purpose being to protect the newly born Republic from any anti systemic threat capable of putting its stability at risk. With that in mind, article 4 of the law also created the offence of glorifying fascism, intended not only to punish any attempt to rebuild the dissolved fascist party but to discourage public celebration of any event, ideology or principle connected to the ventennio, the twenty years of fascist rule. In the main Stamps category you can browse other subcategories devoted to particular historical periods, such as Italian States Stamps and Italian Colonies Stamps.
