Italian Republic stamps from 1958, for sale online at Io Collezionista. On 1 January 1958, the year in which these Italian Republic stamps were issued, the agreements signed in the Treaty of Rome in 1957 by Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium came into force. So began the adventure of the European Economic Community, the EEC until 1992 and thereafter simply the European Community, which formally existed until the Treaty of Lisbon of December 2009, the month it was in effect absorbed into the European Union. Among the most interesting Italian Republic stamps of 1958 is a postally used cover of 175 Lire from 1958.
