Italian Republic stamps for sale online at Io Collezionista. After 21 months of work, Leonardo da Vinci airport was finally inaugurated, commonly known as Rome Fiumicino. The aim of the new infrastructure was both to ease the traffic bound for Rome Ciampino, not least because of the Olympic Games, and to replace it with a more modern and more spacious terminal. The first scheduled flight to land at Fiumicino was a Trans World Airlines service from New York.
