ITALY 1963

Italian Republic stamps from 1963, available worldwide at Io Collezionista. On 1 July 1963, the year in which the Italian Republic stamps in this subcategory were issued, the President of the United States John Fitzgerald Kennedy visited Italy for the first time, stopping first in Rome and then in Naples. A little under 5 months later Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas on 22 November by the former serviceman Lee Harvey Oswald, who carried out the shooting. The later commissions of inquiry raised the possibility of a conspiracy but never managed to identify anyone else involved. Among the most interesting Italian Republic stamps of 1963 are a registered cover of 1963 and a 30 Lire stamp from 1963. In the main Stamps category you can browse other subcategories devoted to particular historical periods, such as Italian States Stamps and Italian Colonies Stamps.
