ITALY 1966

Italian Republic stamps from 1966, for sale at Io Collezionista. 1966 is the year these Italian Republic stamps were issued, and also the year of one of the greatest scandals of the period: the publication, in the magazine La Zanzara of the well known Parini lyceum in Milan, of an inquiry titled a debate on the position of women in our society, examining the problems of marriage, women's work and sex. The subjects the young journalists took on were too indelicate for the time: if discussing sex education was itself obscene in the eyes of the public, interviewing underage female students about it was unthinkable. The editors were put on trial but were finally acquitted of the charges of obscene publication and corruption of minors. Among the higher value issues offered by Io Collezionista is a lot of Concession Parcel Post stamps of 1966. The main Stamps category also offers other subcategories devoted to specific historical periods, such as Italian States Stamps and Italian Colonies Stamps.
