ITALY 1967

Italian Republic stamps from 1967, available online at Io Collezionista. At the start of 1967, the year in which these Italian Republic stamps were issued, the Italian music world and beyond was shaken by the death of Luigi Tenco, regarded in hindsight as one of the most important Italian singer songwriters of all time, during the Italian Song Festival in San Remo. Almost 40 years would pass before the initial hypothesis of suicide was confirmed. A few hours before he died, Tenco had taken the festival stage to sing the song he had chosen for the competition, Ciao amore ciao. Among the most interesting Italian Republic stamps of 1967 at Io Collezionista is a lot of 100 stamps of 500 Lire from 1967 dedicated to the 50th Giro d'Italia. In the main Stamps category you can browse other subcategories devoted to particular historical periods, such as Italian States Stamps and Italian Colonies Stamps.
