ITALY 1983
Italy 1983 stamps, available online at Io Collezionista. In July 1983, the year these Italian Republic stamps belong to, the magistrate Rocco Chinnici was killed by a violent explosion a few steps from his home. He had devised a new approach to fighting the Mafia that would lead to the creation of the antimafia pool. A Fiat 126 carrying 75 kg of explosive had been parked nearby. Alongside the magistrate, his two bodyguards Mario Trapassi and Salvatore Bartolotta and the porter of the building where Chinnici lived also died. Among the most valuable Italy 1983 stamps is a lot of 4 stamps of 10,000 Lire from 1983. The main Stamps category also holds other subcategories devoted to specific historical periods, such as Italian States stamps and Italian Colonies stamps.
