ITALY 1990

Italy 1990 stamps, for sale at Io Collezionista. In 1990, the year these Italian Republic stamps refer to, Italy hosted the 14th edition of the football World Cup, also known as Italia 90. What remains of that tournament is the disappointment of a final missed at home, Italy having been beaten by Argentina on penalties in the semi-final, but also the iconic mascot Ciao and the song Un'Estate Italiana, better known as Notti Magiche, performed by Edoardo Bennato and Gianna Nannini. It was the Italian version of the official tournament theme To Be Number One, with music by Giorgio Moroder and lyrics by Tom Whitlock. Among the more interesting Italy 1990 stamps is a lot of 1990 stamps dedicated to the football World Cup. In the main Stamps category you can browse other subcategories devoted to particular historical periods, such as Italian States stamps and Italian Colonies stamps.
