Bagarella and his supporters favoured the massacre strategy Riina had begun. Among Bagarella's other crimes were the killing of deputy police chief Boris Giuliano (1979), the murder of the businessman Ignazio Salvo (1992) and involvement in the Capaci bombing (1993).
