ITALY 2008
Italian Republic stamps from 2008, for sale at Io Collezionista. In October 2008, the year to which these Italian Republic stamps refer, Sardinia became the first European region to introduce digital terrestrial television, switching off the analogue signal completely. The switch off process went on to reach the other Italian regions gradually, finishing in the summer of 2012. The arrival of digital broadcasting is probably the most important revolution in the history of television transmission. Among the most interesting offers in this subcategory is a 2008 variety cover with mixed Euro and Lire franking and an Enzo Ferrari souvenir sheet. In the main Stamps category you can browse other subcategories devoted to particular historical periods, such as Italian States Stamps and Italian Colonies Stamps.
