1970 - ITALY, REPUBLIC - The first TWA flight with a Boeing 747, TW85, Rome Fiumicino to New York. A cover with the special handstamp prepared for the occasion in a single example, which TWA presented to the Postal Museum of Rome. Duly flown, with the New York arrival postmark - Lotto/41603

17/12/1969 - GREAT BRITAIN - For the 50th anniversary of the flight to Australia made in 1919 by the Smith brothers, the Royal Air Force organised a commemorative flight on 17 December with a Lycoming-engined SIAI-Marchetti F.260 flown by Lieutenant Kingsley: it left London and ended at Sydney on 2 January 1970. A cover duly carried, with the Sydney arrival postmark - Lotto/41602

3/12/1969 - ITALY - The 50th anniversary of the London to Melbourne postal flight, with Italian participation (the journey was flown from Rome to Singapore by Alitalia and from Singapore to Melbourne by a special flight of the company TAA, " Trans Australian Airlines "). A cover from the air dispatch sent direct to Australia, with arrival at Melbourne - Lotto/41601

14/5/1972 - VATICAN CITY - Coming from Rome, an Alitalia DC-8 made the first flight AZ 698 from Milan to Washington. This first link had been postponed by two weeks because of industrial action. A postal dispatch containing a Vatican packet of only 14 covers was carried through to its destination as normal - a cover with the Washington arrival postmark - Lotto/41614

Flight BA 300, actual flying time 3,37 hours, of which 1,55 supersonic - Captain Norman V. Todd, co-pilot Brian J. Calvert, engineer officer John Lidiart. (The British postal administration did not authorise the official carriage of mail, but an unspecified number of letters travelled as private baggage accompanying the passengers.) - Lotto/41627

21/1/1976 - FRANCE - The first Concorde flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris - flight AF 086, actual flying time taken from the logbook 4,29 hours - Captain Tardieu Guillaume, co-pilot Francois Schwartz, chief engineer Martial Detienne. 100 passengers took part in the flight (as a guarantee of carriage aboard Concorde, the marks applied in red on the reverse of the covers were made by Air France).
