Trentino

Trentino Issues Stamps for sale at Io Collezionista. The autonomous province of Trento, commonly called the Trentino, was annexed to the Kingdom of Italy after the First World War with the signing of the treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye in 1919. That created the region of Venezia Tridentina, covering roughly the territory of today's Trentino-Alto Adige, to which the issues in this category refer. Between the rise of fascism and the end of the Second World War the Trentino went through a series of administrative reorganisations: the creation of the province of Trento in 1923 with the annexation of Bolzano, then the separation of Bolzano, which became a province in its own right in 1927. The modern Trentino-Alto Adige was defined by the important agreement reached in 1946 by Alcide De Gasperi, first head of government of the Italian Republic and himself born in the Trentino, and Karl Gruber, president of Tyrol from 1945. You can see further stamps of the Kingdom of Italy in the Kingdom of Italy Stamps subcategory of the main Stamps category.
