Saseno

Saseno Issues Stamps for sale at Io Collezionista. Saseno is an island of 5.7 km² in the Strait of Otranto which has belonged to Albania since 1947, the date of the treaty of Paris. Before then Saseno remained for several decades under the control of the Kingdom of Italy, apart from a brief interlude in 1915 caused by the arrival of Austro-Hungarian troops. The first Italian occupation dates to 1914, while in 1916 a military base and other fortifications were built. Official annexation came in 1920, to the municipality of Lagosta, following the treaty of Tirana and an agreement with Greece. Between 1941 and 1943 it was finally assigned to the province of Cattaro in Dalmatia. You can see further stamps of Albania in the European Countries Stamps subcategory of the main Stamps category.
