Bormida Valley (Alessandria)
Valle Bormida Issues Stamps, available worldwide at Io Collezionista. The armistice of September 1943 formally marked Italy's exit from the Second World War, but also the beginning of a delicate and complex phase that would lead to 25 April 1945. Badoglio's proclamation undoubtedly gave fresh impetus to the forming and organising of the partisan units that played a decisive part in the liberation of Italy from German occupation. Between 1943 and 1945 the Lower Piedmont and the Bormida Valley too saw many partisan actions.
