Mongolia

Mongolia stamps, available worldwide at Io Collezionista. Mongolia is the nation with the lowest population density in the world: across an area of 1,566,000 km² live about 3 million people, almost all concentrated in the capital Ulan Bator. The capital is also known for the high concentration of suspended particles in the air, particulate matter, whose readings close to 300, against a maximum threshold of 20 set by the WHO, can even exceed those of many cities in northern China, another nation affected by the grave problem of air pollution. And it was from the Chinese that Mongolia made itself independent in 1921, thanks to the intervention of the Russians, who defeated them near the capital.
