United States of America

United States of America stamps available online at Io Collezionista. The USA was without doubt the hegemonic power of the 20th century, above all from the Second World War onwards, in military and economic terms alike. With the start of the new millennium the picture has changed, and that primacy, at least the economic one, is now challenged by the ambitious plans of China, among them the new silk road, which also reached the centre of Italian political debate in the early months of 2019. Among stamp enthusiasts the story of the Inverted Jenny is famous, the item released to mark the inauguration of the airmail service in 1918 which carried an obvious printing error: an aircraft upside down relative to its usual position in flight. The stamps gathered in this category trace almost a hundred and fifty years of American history, from 1851 (United States of America Stamps 1851/1860) to 1999 (United States of America Stamps 1990/1999), and there are specific sections too, such as United States of America Official Stamps.
