Zambia

Zambia stamps, available worldwide at Io Collezionista. Zambia is a nation of southern Africa with more than 16 million inhabitants. Zambia was one of the areas of Africa that European explorers reached late, probably because of its inland position and the difficulty of the terrain. The first expeditions date to the end of the 18th century, such as the one led by the Portuguese Francisco de Lacerda. Sixty years later David Livingstone would reach and discover the falls on the Zambezi, which the Scottish explorer named the Victoria Falls. To this day the town of Maramba, in the explorer's honour, carries the double name Livingstone-Maramba.
