Netherlands

Netherlands stamps available online worldwide at Io Collezionista. In several European languages the word Holland, from the Germanic Houtland, wooded land, is used to denote the state of the Netherlands: the habit, though generally accepted, is not welcome to the people of the geographical area that takes in the present provinces of North and South Holland. The category devoted to Dutch stamps is marked by many sections covering a span from the second half of the 19th century (Netherlands Stamps 1852/1867), with for instance various items dedicated to William III, on the throne from March 1849 to November 1890 and the last male sovereign until 2013, to the twenty years either side of the 21st century (Netherlands Stamps 1992/2010).
