Thematic: Polar
Polar thematic stamps, available online at Io Collezionista. The values placed in this subcategory are dedicated to expeditions and exploration at the Poles, among the most remote and hostile places on the planet because of the prohibitive sub zero temperatures. Among the most interesting issues in the catalogue are 7 stamps from 1925 (Norway, complete set) dedicated to Amundsen's expedition to the North Pole and 2 stamps from 1960 1961 (Belgium) on cover dedicated to the 4th Belgian expedition to Antarctica. This is only one of the many Thematic Stamps subcategories on the site, alongside Philatelic Exhibitions Thematic Stamps and Esperanto Thematic Stamps. The main Stamps category gives a full overview of the Io Collezionista philatelic catalogue.
